A little of this, a little of that.

Well enough of my depression for the Zag's loss. It is spring and time to be happy and cheery!! There really isn't anything specific that I can make this one all about, so I decided to fill you in on some updates from the Herzog household. First here are some pictures of our new project. We took a bit of a break after the basement last year. But now we have finally decided to start the outside. Our back yard is about 10 degrees hotter in the summer than the front (because we are an east/west facing house) so we decided to put up and awning. It is just getting started but I can envision the final outcome and I am LOVING IT! I will keep you updated on the progression.

Next, I couldn't resist these adorable pictures. Sleeping pictures will never get old to me. Especially since these two can really go at it some days. They are seriously two peas in a pod;)
Of course there is Otis in there!
Finally, our 1/2 marathon training is going really well. In case you are interested, we are using the Jeff Galloway method to train for this race. So far we are loving this and having a blast! Our race day is May 15th and last weekend we ran 10 miles. I have done one 1/2 marathon before and I can tell you I have never felt so in shape and well trained. There are 3 of us (me, Chris and Kelli) training together and then we have a couple of other friends training a bit with us and a bit on their own. It is really fun to have a group of people to run with. I feel supported and challenged (in a good way) and we all are doing it together which is awesome! I guess the last piece of good news is that running is much easier when you are 24lbs lighter!!! YES I have lost 24 lbs and I am feeling amazing. My trainer (Travis) calculated that I have actually lost 32lbs of fat and gained 8lbs of muscle. My body fat has dropped 11%. I am feeling really proud of myself and happier. All in all, life is pretty good at the Herzog Household. We are just trying to have fun, live life and be healthy!

I'm so happy for you~you've worked so hard on getting your body where you want it!!! Hard work pays off! I'm loving the running/training program. Who knew I'd be running 10 miles? The extension is looking great, can't wait to see what you do with all the decorating! Xo
