This and That

I don't have a ton to report I just wanted to update you and some stuff that has been going on.  First, Chris and I completed Bloomsday this year with a time of 1:20:50!  We were very excited about it.  It was by far our best time and we are shooting for 1:15 next year.  It is always good to have a goal right?!  I don't know what it is but I always forget how hilly that course is!  It isn't even doomsday hill.  The first 2-3 miles is down and then up and then up again!  Because of how crowded it is, we didn't do the Jeff Galloway 4 mins on/1 min walk...we ran 99.9% of it!  That is pretty awesome considering I haven't trained like that at all.  It was pretty hot out but that didn't stop us.  We had the pleasure of being able to run the Corporate Cup and our team came in 10th.  Not bad for the first year!  My time actually counted so that was pretty awesome.  (We saw the couple that got married.  It was pretty cool). My parents came over and my mom ran this year and beat me by a minute and my dad walked it!  It is always fun to share this with them.

Yes, if you read this then you know it was my birthday May, 4th. (Yesterday as I am writing this)  Birthdays are a pretty big deal to me.  I don't know why but I guess it is just your special day for people to celebrate you!  Not that I am complaining, but Matthew's birthday will forever overshadow mine.  If he came when he was supposed to (April 23rd) then it wouldn't be a big deal but noooooo:)  Well I don't have some great slide show of me as a baby or anything but I did have a fabulous dinner with my husband at Thai Kitchen in the valley.  I have been wanting to go there for awhile and it didn't disappoint.  The food was fabulous and it was a great night out.  Chris bought me flowers and had the kids sign a card! (Oh and I got free coffee at Starbucks!)  It was just want I wanted:)   And I know what some of you are thinking..."who made her cake?"  Well, my dear friend Nicole made and brought a cheese cake to Matthew's gymnastics class (her daughter is in it too) and it was delicious.  All in all, it was a great day and I felt very special!

As an aside note, someone jokingly asked me if I was 21 today (and another seriously guessed 26! ha ha) and it got me thinking.  I don't know about you, but I am SO happy that I am 32...or at least let's broaden it to 30's.  SO much better than 20's!  I am happier, healthier and definitely have a much better sense of who I am!  So cheers to 30+2!!!

Before the race!
