A Rollerskate, Pupcakes and Mickey Mouse!

Not really sure why Mickey is sideways but oh well:)  Anyway, three cakes in the last couple of weeks.  The rollerskate was seriously a labor of love.  I wanted to kill it a couple of times but it turned out in the end. I helped a friend make pupcakes for her son's puppy party which turned out adorable!  She sent me the idea from the internet and I tried to make it happen for her.  We decorated them together and I was very happy with how they turned out.  The last one was obviously Mickey Mouse.  This was the 2nd year I have done this cutie's birthday cake!  What an honor 2 years in a row!!!  Anyway, currently I have no cakes for 3 weeks...we will see if that is really the case:) 

Pumpkin Patch Part II

This weekend, my parents came over for a visit.  We had a little birthday dinner for Chris and then on Sunday, we went back to Greenbluff!  It was just as fun this weekend looking for pumpkins and eating pumpkin doughnuts, apple turnovers and whatever else we could get our hands on as it was last weekend.  The kids rode the "Little Toot" again and we went home with some awesome and gnarly looking pumpkins.  I LOVE GREENBLUFF!!!!!

PUMPKIN TIME!

I am pretty obsessed with this time of year.  I love the time between October and December when it is fall in Spokane but I can still ignore Christmas a bit.  Don't get me wrong, Christmas is great and all but Thanksgiving is my ultimate favorite holiday!  I love all of the food and spending time with my family without the pressure of gift giving, etc.  We went to Greenbluff with the Kvinsland's who visited us for the night and of course Chris bought his usual 15 pumpkins!  We decided to carve 3 and the kids were loving it.  Chris carved something really intricate and beautiful...a maple leaf!  I roasted seeds for the first time and they are delicious!  Can't wait to go back this coming weekend when my parents visit!!!!! 

A Ferry Ride and A Wedding Cake

We traveled to Seattle for the weekend to visit my family and I made a wedding cake for Greg and Emily Lagreid.  They got married in Port Townsend so it was a win win situation for the kids.  We got to take them on their first ferry ride and they had a blast!  The cake turned out beautiful and I was really happy with it!  We stayed for the cerimony and it was very beautiful.  Congratulations Greg and Emily.

Some Much Needed Friend Time

Ok again I know it has been way too long since I have posted pictures.  Last week was truly a whirlwind and then we were in Seattle for the weekend.  Last week was one of those weeks where I woke up and thought "I am a very lucky person with some great people in my life."  First, Kelli and I went and had a spa treatment done.  It was so relaxing and fun to have some girl time.  We sat in the steam room and just talked uninterrupted.  Ahhhh I am relaxing just thinking about it:)  Then, I was fortunate enough to see one of my best friends, Amy, for the night.  It is a very long story but at the last minute I flew down to LA and spent the day/night with her.  We had a blast and were able to get all dressed up and go to a party!  Also, I MUST thank my amazing husband for arranging it for me to go to LA to see Amy!  He is the best guy EVER!

The Fair

Well I did something today that I have never done before...I went to the Spokane Fair!  I am going to be honest, large groups of people in any setting freak me out and I wasn't sure about all of the animals, rides and people all mixed into one.  My friend, Nicole talked me into it so we decided to go on a Thursday right when it opened.  I actually had a lot of fun and Matthew was totally digging it!  Maggie wasn't really quite sure what was going on but she had fun.  The rides weren't open...(oh darn) but I promised Matthew that we could go back sometime and ride them (maybe next year?!?!?)
