After 4 months of bribes, talking about it almost every day, and using it as leverage when she is bad, the day has finally arrived! BALLET CLASS DAY! I swear Maggie has been more excited about this than anything. I honestly don't know how she became interested in ballet (I guess the same way Matthew did about trains) but she was ready in the fall. Unfortunately, she had to be 3 to join the class, not that I blame the teacher, so it was the perfect starting point since she turned 3 mid December. Yesterday, I took her to Empire Dance to deck her out in shoes (ballet and tap), tights, a leotard, and wrap sweater. The owner of the store was the sweetest man who was SO incredibly nice and helped Maggie, putting up with her sassy attitude. He even let her help bag the merchandise. I can't believe that I got her hair in a bun but seriously, this girl would do anything for her class. It is a tap/ballet split which is perfect for the 3-5 age range. She is the youngest but not the smallest and I was so proud of her. She did talk a little but the teacher was so nice yet firm and it was perfect for her. Of course she has no coordination yet but she followed the directions as best as she could. The whole thing was a full circle moment for me and I almost cried watching her. (Of course hormones are highly elevated). I just remember how happy I was when I danced (granted I was 8 when I started because my mother tried sports first ahem thanks mom) and watching her made me so happy because she was so happy. She didn't want to leave but I assured her that it is every Tuesday so don't worry! I will try and get some more pictures and video to upload in the future. My little girl is growing up! Crazy:)
