I am refusing to change my background on my blog because I am going to will it to be spring around here! Seriously, yesterday it was 66* and gorgeous. The kids played outside for a lot of the day and I opened the windows. Today, 37* and rain/snow. BLECH! Anyway, this really isn't about the weather it is about my Maggie and her new specs. We went to the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago and after dilating her eyes and doing their thing, they decided the time had come for glasses. I always knew it would happen but I figured it would be about 5ish. Well, we went to the eye glass store and picked out some frames and the next day, they were ready! She has been pretty good about wearing them considering they are new and I am sure somewhat annoying. She still has to patch 3 hours a day under the lense so that is by far the worst part of the day but still she is a trooper! I think she is realizing how much better she can see with them though. She complains about them less and less every day. Hopefully this will help her vision even more and maybe even avoid surgery on one of her eyes. It is amazing how much the patching has helped already.

Happy 4th Birthday Beau
I had the privilege of making Beau's birthday cake again! He loves Darth Vader so that is what I rolled with:) I wanted to do a really cool 3D looking one but since it was the week that we got back from our trip I kept it more low key. He seemed very happy though so that is all that matters!

Crazy Hat Day
Matthew's school celebrates St. Patrick's Day by dressing up in green, having a hot dog lunch, and making "crazy hats" including a parade and voting. The 8th graders decide who wins in each category based on criteria. This was our first year, so I really didn't know what to expect or how crazy some of these hats would be. Matthew seemed very satisfied with his creation and even won in his class for "most clovers". He ended up losing in the overall school vote (to Olivia and her "cloverst" creation!) but he had fun and it was really fun to see some of the hats.

Heading Home
Here is my final installment of pictures. I know there have been a lot so I appreciate you bearing with me:) We spent the last day at the pool and the beach and bbq'd at the hotel. Then the Shirzad's wanted to take a picture in the same spot where they had taken a picture last year so we did that. It was such a wonderful vacation and I hope to visit there again someday!!
Tried to boogie board again but the waves were a little unpredictable.
The Shirzad's.
Aloha Honua Kai...may we see you again soon!

Luau
One of my most favorite nights was the night we went to the Luau. It wasn't at our hotel but the Shirzad's had been there before so they knew what to do! We paid for VIP which when you have kids is TOTALLY worth the money. You get to enter first, which puts you right in the front and eat first (need I explain that part?!) The kids had a blast and went up on the stage to dance with the dancers. The food was delicious and it was a nice evening thank goodness!
Patiently waiting to get in!
Maggie took this picture of me and Khalid!
Practicing his hula skills.
We were literally in the front row!
The pig that they dug up!
On stage preforming.
After the show with the Male dancer.

Maui Part III
This is the day that it was POURING down rain. This day was tough because I knew the kids wanted to play at the beach but it was just pouring. We decided to try a glass bottom boat which was ok but it was raining so hard that the divers couldn't find much at the bottom. They ended up giving us a "rain check" for another visit. These first pictures are just of the kids being silly in the morning!
Here is the glass bottom boat. Of course Maggie had to go to the bathroom as soon as the boat left so she had to go off the side...yeah it wasn't pretty.
The divers would bring animals up to the glass part of the boat.
The next day was GORGEOUS at the pool! It was hot and sunny...just what we all needed!
This was about our 11 o'clock snack time:)
We kind of each took turns swimming with the kids and it was so nice not to have to be "on" 24/7!
My bathing beauty!
