Becky's Baby Shower

Becky, her mom, her twin Colleen, and her sister in law Courtney.

What a spread!
Sorry it has taken me so long to update. I was over in Seattle for the weekend (by myself!!!) and then I came home to sick kids and packing for a trip to Chicago! (Which also brings me to my next point. We are leaving tomorrow so my next post won't be for about a week!) Anyway, I took a bit of a girl's weekend and stayed with Terese and Adam! It was really fun and Becky seemed to enjoy the shower. She received some really cute gifts and Terese did an amazing job pulling it all together!

Race Day!

My friend Laura also ran the race. We were running very close to her so her husband, James, took pictures along the course. Thanks James! It is nice to have some "action" shots.

After the race! Yay it's done:)
Me and Kelli after the race.
Me and Jess before the race
Me and Chris before the race.
Now that I am 24+ hours post race, I am happy to report that it is done and it was amazing:) The conditions were great, I didn't trip, there wasn't too many people and I just enjoyed the course. The only tiny complaint that I have was the weather really warmed up from about mile 9 on and it was a doozie. I got a tiny dehydrated and I was ready by the end to be done! I consider it a success that I can walk today without much pain oh and our time was 2:35:08...not bad, not bad at all!!!

Mother's Day

Ok you know I am a sucker for sleeping pictures. How cute are they?!
Maggie and Mimi playing "weeweewee"
My nephew's Josh and Jake
The moms!
The Girls
Sisters

Josh must have played with her for an hour! Oldest and Youngest Grandchild!

This year, we decided to drive over to Edmonds for Mother's day weekend. We haven't been in awhile and it was nice spending time with the family just relaxing. I watched both of my nephew's play baseball and then my brother in law grilled us up some yummy ribs! All in all it was a great trip...except the parts where Maggie cried in the car:) Oh Miss Maggie!!!

Ahhhh Bloomsday...

Gearing up for the race!

Go Children's Choice!

Well what can I say...It was a terrible run. Let me rewind. I was so pumped for the race. It was Chris' first Bloomsday and we have been training like crazy for this half marathon. I was pumped up and ready to see what I could do. Well there were a few things that seemed to go a bit haywire. First we got down there a tad later than we should have. Then, I had to go to the bathroom SO BAD and didn't have time until after the race started. We stopped at a bathroom and waited for like 15 mins. Then about mile 3 I tripped and fell. I was very startled and then it just seemed like I wouldn't recover. It was so crowded this year and I think we were in too slow a color group, and running with too many people. Anyway, we finished. Not in the time I would have hoped but we finished. After I thought about it for awhile and dissected it with my other teammates, these are my conclusions. First, we finished! Despite numerous setbacks and obstacles we finished...I am so proud of us for not giving up!!! Second, this is only a training run. I let it get to me and built it up to be this big thing. This was not my race. This was only a training run. In fact, Chris and I proceeded to run another 7.5 miles after Bloomsday for a grand total of 15 miles!!! Third, we all finished together. We did not leave a teammate behind. I fell, two members helped me (there were 5 of us running together). Another was having knee issues and we dropped back to run with her. We actually all crossed the finish line together and that was an awesome feeling! Last, I have to say that this is the biggest part I am so proud of: My father who literally had a heart attack 7 months ago beat his previous time!!!! I mean that right there is the most amazing thing ever!!!! I am so proud of us and I know right now I kind of have a bad taste in my mouth, but I am sure I will come out next year and try it again:)

Matthew's Birthday Party

He was very happy about his cake!
We kept it VERY small this year with just family. I was thankful on Saturday because it was raining and blowing quite hard. Usually we have these huge parties but this year it was just not meant to be:) It was very nice and quiet. Matthew got some really nice gifts and was very happy!!!
