Some new videos

These are just some cute "day to day" happenings at the Herzog household! Enjoy.

Dental School Reunion

Another reason we went to Seattle last weekend was to attend Chris' 5 year dental school reunion. It was really fun to see people and catch up. I wish more people could attend but maybe for the 10 year?! It forced me to think about all the things we have done in 5 years: moved across the country 2 times, lived in Spokane for 3 years and had 2 babies!!! In some ways I can't believe it has been 5 years but when I look at that list I feel that we have done a lot! I put a couple of pictures up of the wives and one of my good friend Tracie.

SJK

I had a friend visit last week from San Jose. Her name is Karen and we all call her SJK (for San Jose Karen). Anyway, she is Amy Garcia's closest friend growing up and her maid of honor. We became better friends when I helped her throw Amy's bridal shower and stayed with her in San Jose. It was her first trip to Washington and I showed her the sites of Spokane. It was awesome having her here and I wish that she didn't have to leave. Not only was she a tremendous help with the kids, it was so much fun to chat and have girl time! These are all pictures that Matthew took! I hope that she comes back to visit again!

Saying Goodbye to Gee Gee

My mom's siblings (left to right: Ron, Cathi, Tom, Sharon, my mom, and Jack)
Our family (without Catherine) she couldn't make it from Arizona

Some good friends of my mom's that traveled to Olympia.

Myself and Loretta

I apologize that it has been awhile since I have written. I let Chris take the camera to Vegas and then I have been busy busy! Anyway, we traveled to Seattle this weekend to have a celebration of life for my Gee Gee. It was very nice to see people that I don't see often and swap stories about how amazing she was. It was emotional but necessary to say goodbye.

Gee Gee, I will miss you dearly!

I wish I had more pictures to share but the other ones are at my parent's house. Some good ones:)

At our wedding 2/28/04

Meeting Matthew for the first time. 6/06

Meeting Maggie for the first time. 4/09

My Grandma (Gee Gee) passed away today. I will miss her so much. She was the best grandma a girl could ever have. I was thinking about all of the best memories and great times we shared and I am going to write about a few of them. First, she was the original shoe fanatic of the family! I used to wear them all around her house (until my feet were too big, I think she was a size 6). I think that is where I got my love of shoes. Also, she was one strong woman. I tell Chris that you think I am strong...well there is a lineage to this and Gee Gee was it. She raised 6 kids and didn't take crap from anyone! She and my grandpa lived on Hood Canal for a long time and my family used to spend a lot of time there. Well I remember once my little sister and I came running out of her bathroom (which was always outrageously decorated with furry toilet seat covers and fluffy rugs) and we told her that there was a spider in her tub. She said without missing a beat "That is Jasper, he is my friend. I take baths with him." We totally believed her and the spider didn't seem so scary to us anymore:) She always had the best stories about living in Olympia and working for the state and the brewery (which apparently is pretty much where people worked there). You could pretty much tell her anything and she never judged you or got mad. She would tell you what she thought but it was always in a matter of fact way. I am so lucky that I knew my Gee Gee for 30 years. Some people don't know the grandparents at all. I wish I didn't have to give her up but I know she is in a better place with my gramps taking care of us from heaven! I will always love you Gee Gee and I will miss you very much!!!!

Happy 4th of July

I made the cake for the festivities!

We had the pleasure of spending the 4th of July with Tias, Nicole, Adam, and Travis, Lindy, Lauren and Sophie. We didn't make it to the fireworks (WAY TIRED children) but we had great food, drink and friends. What more can you ask for?!?!?!??!?!

I don't think this warrants further explanation...

Watermelon Anyone?

Maggie had her first taste of watermelon the other day!! She seemed to really like sucking on it:) I just had to take some pictures of her happy as a clam.
